What team will take home the 2001 NCAA men's basketball championship trophy? The 12 teams in the NCAA sweet 16 with McDonald's All Americans on the roster just might be the answer. March Madness is in full swing and if history is any indication, these 12 teams seem to have the best chance for an NCAA Championship. Since 1979, at least one McDonald's All American has been a part of an NCAA title. In all, 57 McDonald's All American alumni have played a role in winning the NCAA crown.
Combined, there are 34 players who have played in the McDonald's All American Game on NCAA sweet 16 teams this year. The players, the year they played and their schools are:

Including this year's squad, 577 McDonald's All American players have competed in the Game, forming an elite list which reads like a Who's Who in basketball history. More than 100 current and former NBA superstars including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Patrick Ewing, Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant made their national debut in the Game.
The 2001 McDonald's All American High School Basketball Game tips off at Duke University's Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C., on Wednesday, March 28 and will be broadcast live on ESPN beginning at 9 p.m. (EST). Tickets are available through Ticketmaster at http://www.ticketmaster.com/ .
