McDonald's Announces Changes to the Global Management Team

Jack M. Greenberg, Chairman and CEO of McDonald's Corporation (NYSE: MCD), announced today important changes in the global management team for the company.
The announcement, which follows yesterday's news that Vice Chairman and President Jim Cantalupo will retire next year, includes important promotions and structural changes for the company's global operations that become effective June 1, 2001. Named in the reorganization were:
* Jim Skinner, currently President of McDonald's Europe, to the newly created position of President and Chief Operating Officer, McDonald's - Europe/Asia/Pacific, which includes 12,350 restaurants operating in these geographic sectors. * Alan Feldman, currently President of McDonald's U.S.A., to the newly created position of President and Chief Operating Officer, McDonald's - The Americas, with management responsibilities for all 15,520 restaurants operating in Canada, the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. * Charlie Bell, currently President of Asia/Pacific, to succeed Skinner as President of McDonald's Europe. * Michael Roberts, currently President of the West Division of McDonald's U.S.A., to succeed Feldman as President of McDonald's U.S.A. * Claire Babrowski, currently Executive Vice President, Worldwide Restaurant Systems, to succeed Bell as President of McDonald's Asia/Pacific. * Jeff Kindler, currently Chairman and CEO of Boston Market and Executive Vice President and General Counsel, McDonald's Corporation, to the newly created position of President - New Brands, with oversight for Aroma Cafe, Boston Market, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Donatos Pizza, and Pret A Manger. He will remain Chairman and CEO of Boston Market. * Gloria Santona, Vice President and General Counsel, McDonald's U.S.A., to succeed Kindler as General Counsel of McDonald's Corporation.
In addition, Lynn Crump-Caine, Executive Vice President of U.S. Restaurant Systems, will take on the added responsibility of Worldwide Restaurant Systems while working with line management to determine the best long-term organizational and reporting structure for all Restaurant Systems functions.
Also, Ed Sanchez, President of McDonald's Latin America, and Pat Donahue, Chairman and CEO of McDonald's Canada, will continue in their management responsibilities reporting to Alan Feldman in his new role as President and Chief Operating Officer, McDonald's - The Americas.

MEMBERS OF McDONALD'S GLOBAL MANAGEMENT TEAM Jim Skinner President & Chief Operating Officer of McDonald's Europe/Asia/Pacific McDonald's Corporation Jim Skinner, 56, is President and Chief Operating Officer of McDonald's - Europe/Asia/Pacific, with management responsibilities for the 12,350 restaurants operating in these geographic sectors. Since late 1997, Jim Skinner has served as President of McDonald's Europe. In this role, Skinner provided oversight of the company's European business. Prior to that, Skinner served as Executive Vice President and International Relationship Partner for Central Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India from 1995 to 1997. Skinner began his career with McDonald's in 1971 as a restaurant manager trainee in Carpentersville, IL. Since 1998, Feldman has served as President of McDonald's U.S.A. Prior to that, he served as President of the Northeast Division, where he was responsible for more than 2,300 restaurants in the Northeastern United States. During his career at McDonald's, Feldman had served as Senior Vice President and Zone Manager, a post he was named to in July 1996. In that position, he was responsible for the operations of McDonald's restaurants and new restaurant development for five eastern McDonald's regions. Before joining McDonald's in 1994 as a Zone Manager and Corporate Vice President, he held a variety of positions with Pizza Hut, Inc., starting in 1986. While at Pizza Hut, he served as Senior Vice President, Business Strategy, and Chief Financial Officer. His began his McDonald's career at age 15 as a part-time crew member at the Kingsford restaurant in Sydney, Australia. Bell progressed quickly through the ranks as Australia's youngest store manager at 19, a Vice President at 27, and a member of the board of directors by 29. Bell held the position of operations director and regional manager before being made vice president of marketing in 1990. In 1993, Bell was appointed managing director, McDonald's Australia. Bell is a member of the board of Ronald McDonald House Charities in Australia, and a member of the Business Council of Australia. He served as a member of the advisory board of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation from 1993 to 1999. In 1993, he was also an advisory director to the McDonald's Corporation's Board of Directors. Most recently, Santona served as Vice President and U.S. General Counsel, responsible for the delivery of legal services to McDonald's - U.S.A. During this time, she also served as Corporate Secretary with responsibility for overseeing corporate, securities, regulatory and transactional matters. She joined McDonald's as an attorney in 1977. Since then, she has held positions of increasing responsibility in the Corporate Legal Department. In 1989, she was appointed Assistant Vice President in the company's legal department and Assistant Secretary shortly thereafter. Santona is a member of the American and Chicago Bar Associations and the American Corporate Counsel Association. Lynn Crump-Caine Executive Vice President, U.S. Restaurant Systems McDonald's Corporation Lynn Crump-Caine, 44, serves as Executive Vice President, U.S. Restaurant Systems, overseeing the six U.S. Restaurant Systems departments that include strategy, business research, customer satisfaction, operations, supply chain, and restaurant development. These departments are responsible for developing the growth strategy and new systems that meet the changing needs of McDonald's business and restaurants. In addition, Crump-Caine will take on the added responsibility of Worldwide Restaurant Systems while working with McDonald's line management to determine the best long-term organizational and reporting structure for all Restaurant Systems functions. Crump-Caine's role as the head of U.S. Restaurant Systems began in late 1999 when she was named a Senior Vice President of the function. Before taking over U.S. Restaurant Systems, Crump-Caine served as the Group Vice President, operations, responsible for supporting the existing restaurant operation and management systems. Prior to that, she was Regional Vice President of the Atlanta Region. Previous positions include Assistant Vice President and director of Training for McDonald's global restaurants, directing the activities of training development, mid-management development, and Hamburger University. Crump-Caine has also been a professor at HU and a training manager. She began her professional career in 1975 as a management trainee, and has held several regional department head positions where she was responsible for customer satisfaction, sales and profits in the Norfolk, South Florida, and Nashville Regions. Crump-Caine is a member of NAFE (National Association of Female Executives). She is also an active leader serving on a number of business and civic organization boards and a contributor to McDonald's Black Employee Network. Eduardo Sanchez President of McDonald's Latin America McDonald's Corporation Eduardo Sanchez, 43, is President, McDonald's Latin America, and International Relationship Partner for Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean. He is responsible for the company's more than 1,540 restaurants in this geographic sector and for supervising the company's development and expansion in this geographic sector. Prior to this post, he served as Senior Vice President and International Relationship Partner. Sanchez began his career with McDonald's in 1976 as a crew member in Miami, Florida, and was promoted to restaurant manager in 1980. In 1982, Sanchez became an Area Supervisor responsible for the operations and local store marketing for five restaurants. Switching to McDonald's International, Sanchez held numerous positions including Director of Operations, Managing Director, and President of McDonald's Spain. In addition, he assumed responsibilities for McDonald's Portugal in 1991. Sanchez returned to the Tampa Bay Region in 1992 as Regional Vice President, where he had responsibility for 300 McDonald's restaurants. In 1995, he was named International Relationship Partner for Latin America. Donahue began his career with McDonald's in Vancouver in 1968 in restaurant operations as a crew person. His dedication and hard work saw him progress through mid and upper-management operations positions up to his appointment as Director of Operations in 1980. Pat was promoted to Assistant Vice President in 1980, Vice President in 1982 and Senior Vice President in 1990, before transferring to the Michigan region as a Regional Vice President in 1991.
