McDonald's® Awards 'McDonald's With the Diner Inside™' Ad Assignment To DDB Chicago

McDonald's Corporation (NYSE: MCD) announced today it has awarded the "McDonald's with the Diner Inside" advertising business to DDB Chicago. The agency's role will be to support the restaurant concept's further expansion and to conduct broadcast media testing for the six "McDonald's with the Diner Inside" scheduled to open in the Evansville, IN TV market.

"With DDB being our lead agency for our adult advertising business, this assignment allows us to further tap their McDonald's experience for this exciting, new concept," said Tom Ryan, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald's USA.

McDonald's currently has two "Diner Inside" restaurants in operation: one in Kokomo, IN which opened in March 2001, and one in Tipton, IN which opened mid June this year. Seven additional "McDonald's with the Diner Inside" restaurants are scheduled to open by the end of the year. The new restaurants will be located in Evansville and Lafayette, IN and Owensboro and Henderson, KY. With six of the restaurants located in the Evansville TV market, this will be the "Diner Inside's" first advertised sales test, creating the need for a national agency assignment.

McDonald's other advertising assignments include: Leo Burnett, the lead agency for McDonald's youth marketing efforts; Burrell, the lead agency for McDonald's African American business; and drm, the lead agency for McDonald's Hispanic business.
