P&G Marketing Veteran Joins McDonald's Team

McDonald's Global Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President Larry Light announced today that Kay Napier, a 20-year Procter & Gamble marketing veteran, most recently Vice President/General Manager, has been hired as a Senior Vice-President of Marketing.

"I am delighted to add this kind of marketing talent to our team at McDonald's," said Light. "Kay's impressive experience with one of the giants in the marketing arena will be invaluable to McDonald's. This is another important step in elevating one of the world's great brands to an even higher level of marketing strength and value."

Kay Napier served as Procter & Gamble's Vice President of North America Pharmaceuticals and Corporate Women's Health & Vitality. Her responsibilities at the company's Cincinnati headquarters included leading P&G's U.S. and Canadian pharmaceutical efforts, which grew steadily under Napier's watch. She also initiated and led P&G's foray into the important and dynamic women's health area.

"I have long admired McDonald's as one of the world's greatest brands, and for what it represents to millions of customers every single day, in the restaurants and in local communities," Napier said. "I consider it an honor to be part of the team."

Napier, who will report to Larry Light, will initially work directly for Bill Lamar, Senior Vice-President of Marketing for McDonald's USA, the company's largest market.

"Kay has built an impressive track record at P&G when it comes to understanding the highly competitive U.S. market and delivering real results for her brands," added Light. "Her priority focus on our U.S. business, backed by her extensive experience, will help give Brand McDonald's even more strategic thinking and firepower.
